Official Biography
Kim Anthony is an author, keynote speaker, and personal development professional, with a passion to help women find their voice and become resilient leaders, in the workplace, home and community. Utilizing the techniques she developed while competing as an elite gymnast, she helps her audience and clients identify hidden obstacles that may be hindering their ability to live and lead out of strength and authenticity instead of fear. Kim Anthony remains unwavering in her passion to inspire and support women from diverse backgrounds, whether it is empowering women in the corporate world to enhance their leadership capabilities, helping the empty-nester mom reclaim her identity and purpose, or uplifting and aiding single mothers in their fight against poverty.
As a board member of a billion-dollar company in a male dominated industry, Kim spearheaded an initiative that strives to furnish women employees with access to valuable resources, guidance, and avenues for advancement.
In her inspiring memoir, Unfavorable Odds, Kim recounts her challenging yet triumphant journey of becoming a world-class gymnast, despite growing up amidst poverty, drugs, and violence. After excelling as an international gold medalist on the U.S. National Team, she accomplished a historical feat by becoming UCLA’s first black woman to earn a gymnastics scholarship and then went on to become the first black woman gymnast ever to win an NCAA National Title. Kim is a 4-time National Champion, 6-time All-American, a member of the Pac 12 All-Century Team and was inducted into both the UCLA and Virginia Sports Halls of Fame.
After finishing her career at UCLA, Kim became a Hollywood stuntwoman, TV Host, TV Sports Analyst/Reporter on ESPN, and she currently hosts the Resilience to Brilliance podcast where guests inspire her audience by sharing their resilience stories.
